About CalcClearly
Calculators that explain themselves.
CalcClearly started as a simple idea: build calculators that are actually easy to use and explain themselves properly. Too many calculator sites just spit out a number with no context, so we wanted something different, a place where you get the answer and understand how we got there.
What's on here
CalcClearly is about the house, the garden and the pool. You'll find tools for dosing pool chemicals and working out how many gallons your pool holds, for ordering gravel, concrete, mulch and fertiliser, and for home projects like paint, tile and flooring. Alongside the calculators there are a few pool chemistry guides for the questions a number alone doesn't answer, like when it's safe to swim again. Each calculator comes with the formula behind it, worked examples, and answers to the questions people actually ask.
Why we're doing this
Honestly, a lot of calculator websites out there are cluttered, outdated, or just hard to trust. We wanted to build one place where the tools are clearly laid out, the math is shown, and you don't have to dig through ads to find the input field. If it saves you a second trip to the hardware store, or a pool that turns green halfway through the season, that's the goal.
A quick note: Everything on CalcClearly is for general information only. We're not a substitute for a pool professional, a contractor, or the instructions on the product label. If you've got a situation specific to you, it's worth talking to someone qualified.
About the founder
CalcClearly is built and maintained by Ellyana D'Ambrosio. I've always had a strong interest in tech and everything to do with building websites and design, and calculator sites that hide the formula behind the result never sat right with me. CalcClearly is my attempt to fix that: tools that show their work, so you can actually trust the number you're looking at.
